Rugby 7s at CSS
Argyle SS and Pender Harbour SS brought teams to Chatelech today to play a 7s Rugby Tournament. It went really well with each team playing several matches.
The teams were treated to a BBQ at the end. Thank you to the parent and student volunteers who assisted with this!
Have a great evening everyone.

Slam Poetry & Meetings
Aside from dealing with a variety of administrative and discipline issues I was able to get to the theatre to to listen to our two visiting Slam poets. They deliver very deep messages via their own genre of poetry, which is something the students can relate to. We will be having one of the poets working in Mr. Davis' English classes the rest of this week.
At the end of the day we had a Staff Committee Meeting and I also attended our PAC Meeting last night. It was a busy day!
I look forward to another busy one today.

Textiles Projects & Microscopes
Ms. Marsh's students were working on their windsocks when I stopped by the textiles room today. The students wanted to share their work-- nice job. Mrs. Liddicoat's Science 8 class was busy with a microscope experiment when I stopped by her class. The students seemed to be very engaged in their work.
It has been a busy week, with Photo Day, today's Grade 9 Grade Groups Assembly, along with a variety of other activities. It's time to recharge the batteries.
Next week we have some Slam Poets visiting Chatelech, which should be awesome. There is a District PAC Meeting (DPAC) at Chatelech next Thursday, from 7-9 pm in the library-- all are welcome.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Homework Club, B-Ball, Rugby, V-Ball and Much More
There was a lot of activity after school today. Aside from Homework Club, pick-up basketball, which I supervised today, there was rugby practice, Grade 8 and Senior Volleyball in Vancouver, Cross Country in Vancouver and our Outdoor Ed 10 class returning from their Squamish adventure.
I am finding that there are a lot of opportunities for our students to participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities. If you child is looking for some after school activities make sure that they investigate the variety of options.
Have a good evening.

Otesha Project
http://www.otesha.ca/content/about-otesha-project
We has the Otesha Project at CSS today. The group tours BC on bicycles and shares their vision of a sustainable environment. The group went into four different classes and spent time speaking with students at lunch. If you are interested in finding out more about the Otesha Project click on the link above.
It was nice that the rain stopped for the next leg of their journey, which may be Pender Harbour.
Have a nice evening.
