http://www.jacksonkatz.com/video2.html
Dr. Jackson Katz is an educator, author, filmmaker and social theorist who has long been recognized as one of America's leading anti-sexist male activists. He brought his message of the Bystander Approach which addresses the peer culture around norms around domestic and sexual violence. He challenged the audience to raise the bar and feels that we need to refuse to be silent when things are being said or inappropriate actions are seen. He is working with a community group to develop a mentoring program to address this important societal issue.

Grade 7 Transition Meetings Today
Today, Grade 8-10 Counselor, Wendy Charters and I went to four elementary schools for transition meetings with grade 7 students who plan on attending Chatelech SS in the fall. We brought along some of our Grade 8 students to provide some insight for the students.
Overall the visits went well from our first stop at Ecole de Pacific, followed by Halfmoon Bay Elementary, West Sechelt Elementary and lastly Roberts Creek Elementary.
Thanks to our Grade 8 students for sharing their expertise.
