Anti-Bullying Day Events at CSS

Our MCs at last night showing of My Prairie Home. Last night the Chatelech GSA hosted a showing of the new National Film Board documentary, My Praire Home, which chronicles and explores the life and music of Rae Spoon, a transgendered singer/songwriter. The film is an exploration of the challenges of growing up gay on the Prairies. It examines feelings of exclusion, bullying and the tensions of family life. But it's also hopeful and shows how Rea finds safety and meaning through music. The GSA kids raised over $100.00 in donations from supportive community members and groups.

Former Canadian National Ballet dancer, Heidi Riggs, shares her story about struggles with bullying as she started her dance career.  As part of the Anti-Bullying Day a dance troupe from Gibsons presented a powerful message following Heidi's talk. Thank you to all for sharing this important message.
