I had an opportunity to be part of a smudging ceremony in the Sechelt Language class this morning. It was a powerful experience, particularly with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission coming to Vancouver this week. Addressing the wounds of the Residential School situation, that impacted so many Aboriginal people, will be on the minds of many Canadians this week. Our thoughts and prayers are with those that will have to deal with these difficult issues.
